Ukhwah

Ayla and Syahmi spent New Year in Janda Baik at their school reunion, Azeem with the rest of The Marjans at Iwan's, Hubby was away with his family in Alor Setar, Reza the homebuddy was with his family in Seri Putra and I spent the New Year with friends from TKC at Datin Aiza's and Dato' Dollah's home at Jalan Kia Peng. It was a special invitation to celebrate New Year together with friends who has bonded since 12 years of age and also see the fireworks at KLCC later in the night.

We started with usrah after asar prayers. The Naqibah is our Dearest friend Laili and the topic was about Cleansing the mind, Purifying the heart and Sanctifying the soul. I will write about this separately as I need to do a little reading up on this before sharing.

This was followed by solat maghrib with Datin Suzie's hubby as imam. After maghrib prayers we had barbeque dinner spread, lamb, beef, chicken, fish and squids  served with potatoes and nasi goreng. There were also lots of desserts and fruits, bread pudding, creme brulee cheesecake, chocolate cake, cherries and rambutans.

Personally I got a massage or to be more precise got unknotted by Knot aka Farina after maghrib prayers. She observed my pain as I was rolling the prayer carpet after solat. At dinner there were many stories shared, from rambutan stories to wives' tales with lots of laughter obviously.

We ended up wearing party hats and blowing whistles. Approximately half an hour before midnight we walked towards Traders Hotel to see the fireworks at KLCC Twin towers. Normally I would watch the fireworks from afar but this time it was so close like we were beneath the sparks (See earlier video on New Year 2012 at KLCC). It was a different experience to actually be there without the pushing and all. There were many people there but we wern't being pushed in the crowd or anything like that. It was just a great get together on the streets. No drunkards, no hooligans at least where we were. Hopefully elsewhere too. When it was all over, we walked back to Kia Peng and chatted for a while longer before we parted at almost 1am. All in all it was a wonderful night together with friends whom you literally grow up with from 12 to 18 years of age some who were with me since 7 years old. We have kept in touch since thus explains the Ukhwah.... the bond that had developed through years of friendship.
