Mencari Redha Allah - In Search of Allah's Blessing

This morning my favourite Ustaz was on TV but I do not know his name (Pagi tadi, Ustaz kegemaran saya keluar dikaca TV, walaubagaimanapun tidak saya ketahui namanya). When I started this blog, I was contemplating on whether to write in my National Language i.e. Bahasa Melayu or in English. You see one need more words to write in Bahasa Melayu. Plus the fact that I was educated since I was six years old in full English except for the Bahasa Melayu. Can one give that as an excuse for writing in English. Plus the fact when I was in primary school Iwanted so much to be like Adibah Amin, writing her 'As I was Passing'. This is purely from memory, did I get it correct? I will check later. Before my daughter was solemnised to be married, the imam asked my future son-in-law why he wanted to be married to my daughter and he insisted on an answer Lillahi Taala. So when the question was asked during the solemnisation that was the answer given for all to hear. I wouldn't dare ask my son-in-law if he understood what it meant nor my daughter because when I was solemnised I was not even sure of the clear objective in the marriage. However I am certain they know what that meant... Children these days are smarter I assume. It is good to know the objective of marriage from the start. Many look at marriage from different perspectives. If you are the parents to the bride and groom you would be looking at different things and if you are the bride and groom themselves, you would be looking at different wants and needs for that matter. Grandchildren born between 1981 to 1994 My late mom's second set of grandchildren were born between 1981 to 1994, a total of thirteen altogether. Only three were born when she was still alive. She passed away on 8.6.86 at age 66 and 2 months later my daughter was born. My eldest son was barely two years old then. Come to think of it my children never knew their maternal grandma and they never ask about her. I would go through the same fate I guess, buried and forgotten unless told. Born in 1920, my mom was the second child of 6 siblings. Those days the girls stayed home and was never sent to school. Her eldest brother was an educated person with a good career, then in the 60s was working with an oil and gas company and went as far as Brunei to work. The rest of her siblings, all went to school except for her. I guess being the eldest girl she had to sacrifice to take care of her younger siblings. I was informed that she always ask her mom why she was not sent to school
