Mahabbah (Love)

Hijrah is to change and do good. How best  to start doing good then to love one another.

There are many kinds and definition of love. Divine Love (Rahmah) and warm love (hub) that of Allah s.w.t. whom He bestows to some but not to the others. This is to show the difference to those who do good and to  those who doesn't otherwise there would be no difference between being good and evil. Likewise there is Love for Allah s.w.t. and Rasullullah s.a.w. For the love of Allah it's obviously abstaining from the things that are forbidden in Islam and for the manifestation of our love to Allah is to do all that is asked of us, one word says all - Taqwa. For the love of Rasullullah s.a.w. one shows it by following his sunnah with love and care and abstain all that he is against. The other form of love are amongst mankind.  There are also love of parents to children, love of children for the parents, love of husbands and wives, love of the young, love of the elders, love among friends, love among colleagues, love of teachers, love for students, love of the community and many more.

A few weeks ago in the newspaper, headlines on three brothers who were caught for armed robberies. When you read this, too often you wondered where or what has gone really wrong. My hunch was that the brothers grew up either denied of love and care from parents, grandparents, family and friends or last but not least no love from the community.

At work, one of my staff has a three month old daughter still in ICU after a heart surgery and the little girl has been in hospital for more than a month now. It didn't matter if we are of different race but we work together everyday but out of love we prayed and collected donation for the sweet little girl. May Allah keep her under His care and make her better for the young parents.

Nevertheless today seeing, 'The Marjans' - Aliff, Om, Iwan, Putra, Azeem and together with Afiq (Alif's brother) spending time together from mid-day to midnight was enough for the parents of these children to know that when it's time to exit this world we know that they will be there for one another. Time was spent just chatting, sharing experiences, playing music, surfing the internet all in the comfort of my sister's home under the prying eyes of two moms. My sister prepared and served many delicious dishes throughout the day all prepared with love and the night ended with barbeque by the boys. If you don't call this love,  am not sure what to define that as.

                                                                'The Marjans'

Love in small quantities are healing and in abundance are simply magical.....
