Mencari Redha Allah - In Search of Allah's Blessing

This morning my favourite Ustaz was on TV but I do not know his name (Pagi tadi, Ustaz kegemaran saya keluar dikaca TV, walaubagaimanapun tidak saya ketahui namanya). When I started this blog, I was contemplating on whether to write in my National Language i.e. Bahasa Melayu or in English. You see one need more words to write in Bahasa Melayu. Plus the fact that I was educated since I was six years old in full English except for the Bahasa Melayu. Can one give that as an excuse for writing in English. Plus the fact when I was in primary school Iwanted so much to be like Adibah Amin, writing her 'As I was Passing'. This is purely from memory, did I get it correct? I will check later. Marriage ..LillahiTaala

Before my daughter was solemnised to be married, the imam asked my future son-in-law why he wanted to be married to my daughter and he insisted on an answer Lillahi Taala. So when the question was asked during the solemnisation that was the answer given for all to hear. I wouldn't dare ask my son-in-law if he understood what it meant nor my daughter because when I was solemnised I was not even sure of the clear objective in the marriage. However I am certain they know what that meant... Children these days are smarter I assume. It is good to know the objective of marriage from the start. If you are the parents to the bride and groom you would be looking at different things and if you are the bride and groom themselves, you would be looking at different wants and needs for that matter. Missing Mak

One of the three things that we leave behind in this world that will benefit us in the thereafter are pious/righteous children and I am far from it, I know. That is the very reason I always wonder whether Mak and Bak still love me now. I guess they did love me when they were alive. My sisters always tell me that they dream of Mak and Bak but I don't. Maybe once or twice but not often. If I am to be gauged against Mak on the motherly duties, I would lose out to her in all aspects. While I had a live-in helper for twenty years to help me with household chores and to help take care of my three children, Mak did everything herself raising 12 children, except for Kak Rohaya who passed away within a week of birth. But I guess when my elder siblings were growing up they helped to take care of us younger ones. Growing up in an extended family I reckon there was no problem of unpaid baby sitters.
