Speaking The Truth

I found this in a collection of hadiths:

Abu Muhammad al-Hasan ibn Ali b. Abu Talib said : I preserved the following words from Rasulullah saw : "Leave what you have doubt about for that you have no doubt about; for it is truth that brings peace of mind and it is falsehood that brings doubt". ( Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Nasa'i )

The hadith explains itself unless I misinterpret. It is applicable too to words uttered presumably..
If there are times when you have to lie to cover things up for your loved ones or to make another person looks good for the truth would reflect badly on him or her, that means your loved ones or that other person is not doing the right thing.

Don't worry I am confused myself but I know what I meant to say.
