100,000 Times More

Coming home from Makkah Al-Mukarramah on the 13th day of Ramadhan did bring a lot of sadness in the soul. The sadness of not knowing when I could return to Allah's House again was bad enough and then to return home hearing the songs celebrating the Festival of Eid being played at Mydin Mall Subang Jaya was enough to make me howl and cry inside.

In Islam we are asked to flock with good people and not the opposites so we be reminded to be as righteous as possible. If the government do not assist via policies and regulations in order to help the community and the society do not seem to care about Ramadhan then it befalls on individuals to join the race to benefit from the holy month of Ramadhan. Isn't working as a group always easier than doing it alone. Just the atmosphere during Ramadhan at home is so depressing. People are already shopping for the Eid Festival, while the remaining days of Ramadhan are just passing us by.

It is not that the solat performed anywhere else gains us only 1 good deed thus we do it with less gusto or discipline compared to when we are in Haram where every solat is multiplied 100,000 times more. Do we pay less attention to earning the good deeds during Ramadhan if we are not in Haram? In Haram it is a different kind of ratrace altogether, all to get the blessings of Allah.

In Haram I met my childhood friend who left Malaysia as it was easier to get closer to Allah in Haram. She left her riches to live simply in Makkah and yet she's a happier soul all around. The things she does there is so heartwrenching compared to what I would ever be willing to do within my comfort zone. Do we all then pack our bags and live in Haram to get Allah's blessing then?.

Like many we need to live and earn a living in this world and yet we have to prepare ourselves for the hereafter. How do we tip the balance to the latter? Starting from now do not waste the Ramadhan we have left. Do the best we can and pray that we will live to the next Ramadhan. In between the Ramadhans there is yet a lot to be done to guarantee us Jannah. Look up the guide on a fruitfull Ramadhan and ways to earn Allah's Rahmat to enter Jannah.

The 100,000 times is equivalent to performing solat five times a day, 30 days a month for 55.55 years of solat for one individual. I hope my Maths is correct. Imagine if we get the opportunity to do more than one solat in Haram. It's phenomenal. So for us who do not live in Haram we have to work terribly hard thus the more we have to earn Allah's favour for only He can grant us Jannah whether we live in Haram or not. Again and again we are reminded of Allah's favour and mercy for Him to choose who he pleases to purify les the Maths on 100,000 times fail us still.

Allah's Firman:
Surah An-Nur:24:20
24:20
Sahih International
And if it had not been for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy... and because Allah is Kind and Merciful.

24:21
Sahih International
O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan - indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever, but Allah purifies whom He wills, and Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

Allah Al Rahman, Al Rahim. The All Knowing. Subhanallah.
